You are waiting for your photo booth to arrive or you have the idea to get a photo booth and you immediately start scouting your business for a place to put the booth. It is common for new photo booth owners to be confused as to where they should put their booth, but a little preliminary planning will help to get that booth put in a place where it will generate plenty of revenue.
Power
You want to be able to plug your photo booth directly into a reliable power outlet that has grounded plugs. If you want to get the very best from your photo booth, then you should never use an extension cord or power strip. Ideally, your photo booth should be the only device plugged into the outlet.
Space
Find a space that is protected from the elements, but puts your photo booth on display to customers as they enter your business. You should give several feet of clearance on all of the sides that are not against the wall to make it comfortable for customers to wait to use the photo booth, while giving privacy to those using the booth. You should also leave space to put storage for props and supplies to keep everything you will need for your booth on-hand at all times.
Internet Connection
Your FacePlace photo booth connects directly to the Internet, and it is a good idea to have a strong Internet connection to avoid any problems. You can hard-wire your photo booth to the Internet to allow your customers to share their pictures on social media and place orders for customized novelty products. You can also use your Internet connection to download reports directly from your photo booth to track your revenue.
Lighting
The enclosed photo booths have their own lighting, but products such as the Photo Studio are stand-alone products not surrounded by booths. Luckily, standard overhead lighting is more than enough to allow your customers to take great pictures. For security reasons, you should make sure your photo booth area has good lighting, especially when that part of your business starts to get very busy.
Access
You should situate your photo booth so that your customers can enter from either side. The temptation may be to put one side up against the wall to save on floor space, but then you will not allow your customers to fully enjoy your booth. Most FacePlace photo booths can be accessed from both sides, so it is a good idea to put your booth in an area that has plenty of space.
You should not be afraid to experiment with places within your business to put your photo booth. If you are not getting the kind of revenue you want from one spot, then move your booth and track your results. After a few moves, you can settle your booth in the one spot where it generates you the most consistent amount of revenue.
